Higashiyama Niseko Village, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Rejuvenate in nature at our Hokkaido spa resort

Spa

In the language of Niseko’s indigenous Ainu, “chasi” translates to “sanctuary.” Drawing from the true meaning of the word, Spa Chasi La Sothys, located in Higashiyama Niseko Village, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, offers hotel guests a retreat high in the mountains and surrounded by forests, home of the Ainu’s mythological divine spirit. Like the changing landscape, which transforms from shimmering silver in winter to emerald green in spring, the Niseko spa takes cues from Hokkaido's natural surroundings, incorporating land-sourced ingredients into treatments that blend Japanese tradition with French techniques, plus boasts luxurious features like private onsens. Innovative spa journeys developed in collaboration with Sothys are personalized to address skin and body care needs, enhanced by aromatic fragrances to nurture the body and mind. Sothys, the highly acclaimed specialized French brand, looks to nature as a source of inspiration for unique treatment rituals.

Signature Treatments

The healing elements of nature and the traditions of the indigenous Ainu people are touchstones of the experience at our Hokkaido spa resort. Rituals, treatments and products incorporate powerful local elements such as spring water, black silica, birch, and lavender, demonstrating that rejuvenation is often as simple as connecting to the world around us.

Nature’s Wisdom

Black silica plays a central role in this treatment. Found only in Hokkaido, the element was used by the indigenous Ainu in amulets and healing practices. In this experience, stiffness and pain are relieved with a massage, and a facial using hot-spring water soothes and nourishes the skin.

Enrich Five

Perfect after a day on the mountains, this treatment begins with a consultation to address the needs of the body that day. By stretching and using botanical extracts, this special technique at our Niseko massage spa works deep in the muscles to relieve tension and fatigue.

Luxury Spa Features

The Onsen

Holding the power and purity of Hokkaido’s mineral-rich water, the onsen is an ancient Japanese tradition. The hot indoor and outdoor baths, separate for ladies and gentlemen, are overlooked by the mountainous landscape and feature tranquil gardens and saunas. A private onsen offers an elevated experience.
