What to Pack

Don't Forget: Your journeys around Wolfsburg and any trips you decide to take to cities like Berlin or Hamburg will surely result in lots of souvenirs and gifts for those back home. Bring an extra foldable carry-on to avoid running out of space.

Exploring the City
  • Autostadt, a massive theme park dedicated to automobiles, and Phaeno, a science center designed by Zaha Hadid, are some of the must-see attractions around town, along with medieval castles and an internationally recognized contemporary art museum.

  • Wolfsburg enjoys all four seasons, with warm summers and cold winters. Opt for lightweight, breathable fabrics for the former, and pile on the layers and knits for the latter.

  • It also rains frequently — bring a waterproof jacket and umbrella.

  • Prepare to do a lot of walking. Comfortable sneakers and flat sandals or boots are your best bet.

Day Trips
  • Berlin, Hanover and Hamburg are just some of the cities that are close enough for fun, interesting and culturally fulfilling day trips. Pack the essentials you’ll need for long days of sightseeing.

  • Bring a camera. German cities are all beautiful in their unique way, and so is the scenic countryside between them.

  • A lightweight backpack or tote will help you fit what you’ll need for the day — water, guidebooks, sunscreen and a portable charger.

  • Pack layers to accommodate changes in temperature. Especially in the summers, don’t forget a sweater for air-conditioned indoors.
Spa Retreat
  • You can easily make a perfect vacation spending most of your time in the hotel’s elegant and sprawling spa. It also doesn’t hurt that there’s a three-Michelin-starred restaurant inside the hotel, the perfect complement to a day of relaxation.

  • Pack a selection of casual layers and workout clothes to take advantage of the many amenities.

  • Don’t forget your swimsuit and flip-flops in summer. For a lazy afternoon poolside, bring along a book or two.

  • Have an elegant business casual outfit on hand for your dinner reservations.
